Animal Balm
Natural Animal care products
As you all know , we use natural ingredients in our products and source as many as we can from Yorkshire and the UK. We make products for humans , and sometimes they are also relevant for the members of our families who are animals.
There has been a growing realisation that it is better for our bodies to use natural ingredients in our human cosmetics. This trend is not just a passing fad, as more and more people are becoming aware of the harmful effects of synthetic chemicals and additives on their health and the environment. But what about our constant companions , the animals ? We are waking up to the benefits of using natural food and balms for them aswell. Pet balms are used to soothe a variety of skin conditions, injuries, and irritations in our pets.
Natural ingredients have been used for centuries in traditional medicine practices for their healing properties. These ingredients are not only effective in treating various ailments, but they are also gentle on the skin and safe for animals to lick or ingest.
There are several benefits to using balms for animals that are made with natural ingredients. One of the primary benefits is that natural ingredients are less likely to cause allergic reactions or irritations. Natural balms are gentle and soothing, making them ideal for use on sensitive skin where the skin would benefit from added moisture, and protection with the skin repairs.
Another benefit of using balms with natural ingredients is that they are more environmentally friendly. Many commercial balms contain petrochemicals and other harmful substances that can leach into the soil and water, causing pollution and harm to wildlife. By using balms like ours, made with natural ingredients, you can reduce your pet's exposure to these harmful substances and minimize your impact on the environment.
Additionally, natural ingredients are often more effective at treating skin conditions and promoting healing. Many well chosen plant-based ingredients have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties that can help soothe
irritation, reduce redness and swelling, and speed up the healing process. For example, ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, and calendula have been shown to be effective at treating dry skin, hot spots, rashes, and minor wounds in animals.
There are a wide variety of natural ingredients that can be used to make balms for animals. We use shea butter as it is a natural emollient that is high in vitamins A and E, which are essential for healthy skin. Shea butter can help soften and hydrate rough, dry skin, and protect it from environmental damage. It is also non-toxic and safe for animals to use topically.
Rapeseed oil from Yorkshire with its rich golden yellow colour and thick consistency has a number of positive properties on our skin, including a soothing and caring effect on dry and sensitive skin. The oil contains the essential fatty acids Omega 3, 6 and 9, which work together to both moisturize and protect the skin from external stresses. Beeswax is a natural emollient that can help thicken and emulsify balms. Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin that locks in moisture and prevents moisture loss. It is also antibacterial and can help protect the skin from infections.
Here at Bee Clean Soaps we make a balm especially for animals, it started out as a balm for dogs – creatively called ‘dog balm’. It has been tried and tested on our own, friends and colleagues pets- dogs, cats and horses. It does all that it says above, and packaged in a reusable or recyclable tin, is a champion in a sustainable way. We choses to leave out any essential oils as the animals tend to ingest anything that we put onto them.
